STRIKING: BOXING

Arguably the most well know combat sport in the world, Boxing needs no introduction.

Boxing builds physical fitness, increases attention to detail and promotes mental resilience.

For complete beginners, Boxing is a great place to start as it's the baseline for all striking sports!

With 5 classes per week available in addition to a number of separate sparring classes there are plenty of opportunities to get involved.

STRIKING:
MUAY THAI & K1 KICKBOXING

Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand. Often hailed as one of the most beautiful combat sports it is just as aggressive as it is poetic. Comprising punches, kicks, knees, elbows and stand up grappling, Muay Thai is sure to improve your strength, balance and coordination.

K1 Kickboxing (Dutch Style) shares many of the same properties as its Thai counterpart, however, tends to be fought at a faster pace and with a greater focus on the boxing aspect of the sport.

We teach both sports, ensuring our students develop into well-rounded strikers.

GRAPPLING:
NO GI JIU-JITSU & WRESTLING

Jiu-Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, taking the fight to the ground.

Wrestling is a form of combat sport involving grappling type techniques such as clinch fighting, throws and takedowns, joint locks, pins and other grappling holds.

Despite their different origins, both Martial Arts go hand in hand and when utilised well together can prove extremely challenging for the opposing side.

If you are new to grappling game we would always suggest checking out one of the Jiu Jitsu classes first and progressing from there.

Both sports are close contact and amazing for teaching you how to keep grinding in the face of adversity.

MMA - MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

Mixed Martial Arts, aka MMA, although one of the newer combat sports, has deep roots connected to Gladiatorial Combat. Made up of striking and grappling components, MMA athletes require to be well rounded in the above disciplines.

We have structured our timetable to ensure that those looking to compete in MMA pay close attention to the foundations before linking them together to start work on their MMA skillset.

We also periodically offer a six-week Intro To MMA course, keep an eye on our socials for dates.

Our fight team, Resurgence MMA, comprises both Professional and Amateur Fighters who train daily and fight regularly across a variety of disciplines as well as their native sport of MMA.

For those of you looking to fight and who have no previous experience the first step is to attend as often as you can. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication but the unique return is something that only a few people ever experience.

Having the ability to move freely through a range of motions should be a goal everyone aspires to. It keeps us pain-free and bolsters our abilities to perform tasks with better form and technique.
